Discretionary grant for fixed property costs

Use this form to apply for a support grant to help pay property costs. This grant is for businesses or charities that have been affected by coronavirus restrictions.

Who can apply

You can apply for this grant if you:

  • run a business or charity based in Leeds
  • are based in a business premises (not your home or other domestic property)
  • have fixed property costs of at least £4,000 a year
  • can prove that you expect at least a 30% income loss if you are a business, or a significant financial impact if you are a charity

Multiple premises

If your business usually trades from multiple premises, you will need to apply separately for each one. We will review your applications together and may pay them in one single payment.

What you’ll need

To use this form, you will need:

  • your business or charity bank statement
  • a copy of your passport or driving licence
  • proof of fixed property costs for your business or charity
  • proof of your accounts for the financial year 2019 to 2020
  • proof of income and expenditure for the financial year 2020 to 2021
  • forecasts for income and expenditure from now until the end of March 2021

You can upload scanned copies or photos of your proof. You can submit up to 20 files. Each file must be less than 10MB.

We accept:

  • PDFs (.pdf)
  • word documents (.doc or .docx)
  • images (.jpg or .png)

1. Bank statement

We need a copy of your business bank statement to help prevent fraud.

The business bank statement must:

  • be dated from within the last month
  • show business transactions
  • show the same name, account number and sort code as those you gave earlier in the form

2. Proof of identity

To prove your identity we will accept a copy of your:

  • driving licence
  • passport

3. Proof of fixed property costs

To prove your annual fixed property costs we will accept:

  • a signed property lease or licence to occupy a premises
  • 6 months of invoices for rent and service charges from your landlord
  • your annual commercial mortgage statement
  • your business rates bill for the year 2020 to 2021

4. Accounts from the previous financial year, 2019 to 2020

To prove that you expect at least a 30% loss, you should upload last year’s accounts so we can compare them with your finances for this year.

As proof of your accounts for the financial year 2019 to 2020 we will accept:

  • a copy of your self assessment tax return
  • a set of audited business accounts
  • a set of 12 months of bank statements for the full financial year

5. Accounts for this financial year so far, 2020 to 2021

To prove that you expect at least a 30% loss this financial year, we will accept:

  • management accounts from the start of this financial year to now
  • a record of income and expenditure from the start of this financial year to now
  • a set of bank statements from the start of this financial year to now

6. Forecast from now until end of March 2021 (if you have one)

To prove that you expect at least a 30% loss compared to last year you should upload a forecast of income and expenditure up to the end of March 2021.

You can upload up to 20 files. Each file must be smaller than 10MB. We accept:

  • PDFs (.pdf)
  • word documents (.doc or .docx)
  • images (.jpg or .png)
